Privacy Policy – Layer

Last updated: September 2026

Layer (package com.app.refits) is a wardrobe app for Android. It is built to work offline first: your clothes, outfits and plans live on your phone, and nothing leaves the device unless you sign in to back it up. This policy explains what the app stores, what it sends where, and how you can delete it.

Data Stored on Your Phone

Without an account, everything the app knows stays on your device:

Garment labelling and photo cut-outs run entirely on the device using on-device machine learning (Google ML Kit subject segmentation and a bundled image model). Your photos are not uploaded for this processing.

Optional Account and Cloud Backup

You can create an account with an email address and password, or sign in with Google. Signing in is only needed to back up your wardrobe and sync it between devices. When signed in we store, through Google Firebase:

This data is readable only by your own account. Signing out keeps the wardrobe on your phone and stops syncing.

Permissions and What They Are Used For

Third-Party Services

We do not show ads and we do not sell or share your data with anyone else.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete your account and all of its data directly in the app:

  1. Open Layer
  2. Go to Profile
  3. Select Delete account and confirm with your password or Google account

This immediately and permanently removes:

If you use the app without an account, uninstalling it or clearing its storage removes all data, since nothing is kept elsewhere. If you can no longer access the app, email the address below and we will delete the account for you.

Children’s Privacy

This app is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
